Birthday Book Tradition

Buy at Art.comEveryone loves a good book. The birthday book can become a treasured tradition. And the birthday book isn't just for children, you can use this tradition with everyone. Co-workers, relatives, neighbors will all appreciate the birthday book tradition.

Here's how you do it. Simply buy a book, that fits your preschoolers (or whomever is receiving it) personality and/or taste. A favorite cartoon character is a popular choice.

It is a personal touch in picking out the book that says what you think of that person. For example if you preschooler loves Thomas The Tank Engine, that is the book you would get them. Chances are next year it may be a different character.

At the party, provide a pen for everyone to write a birthday wish in the front cover pages of the book. Be sure to write what year it is for future reference.

An extra touch could be to place a picture of your preschooler in the cover. This way it also becomes a memory book of sorts.

From the Editor

I have done this tradition with all my boys. They always know they are going to get a book. My ten year old likes to look back at the signatures and ask who they were. It is a great way to keep memories of the day. Especially when some of the signers are no longer with us. It is a great tradition to use with just about anyone. All my friends know to expect a book for their birthday, and get upset if I didn't give them a book.
