Telescope Project

LAND HO! Pirates need a telescope so they can spot land from sea. These simple telescopes will keep them busy while they make them, and busy looking for things after.

Materials You Will Need

Empty Paper Towel Rolls
5 ounce Dixie cup
Tape
Scissors or box knife
Stickers

How To Make It

Step 1:
Adults should cut the bottom of the Dixie cup out with scissors or box knife prior to doing the project at the party.

Step 2:
Put the Dixie cup on the table bottom side up. Insert the paper towel roll into the bottom of cup. Tape around where cup meets the roll.

Step 3:
Decorate with stickers. And you are off to search for land.

Helpful Tip For Parents

You may just want to have them assembled before the party. Then decorating is all they need. Staples hold the cup on just as well, just make sure the flat side is on the outside.
