Make Your Own Pom-Pom Party Favor

These easy to make Pom-poms will give everyone something to cheer about. Make them in your favorite teams' colors and hand them out as favors. Hang them from lamps, and doorways for decoration. Then send them home with your guests.

Materials You Will Need

Yarn in your favorite team colors

How To Make It

Step 1:
Cut 25-40 18" pieces of yarn. Depending on how fluffy you want your pom-pom to be.

Step 2:
Tie a yarn at the half 9" mark of the bunch of yarn. Fold in half.

Step 3:
About 2" up from the fold, wrap a piece of yarn around the whole bunch of yarn 5 times, pulling tightly each wrap.

Helpful Tip For Parents

Use yarn and curling ribbon for a fun textured pom-pom. If you want to add handles to your pom-pom when you fold the yarn in half fold it over a 8" X 2" strip of cardboard. Then fold the cardboard in half and tape or staple. These make great decorations and props for a Super Bowl party.
