Handful Of Heart Valentine Party Craft

Materials You Will Need

Muslin Fabric
Pinking Sheers
1/4" Dowel
Red Craft Paint
Crafting Glue
2- 24" Pieces of Red and/or Pink Yarn or Ribbon
Newspaper
Paperplates
Painting smocks (recommended)

How To Make It

Step 1:
Before party cut a 8" X 10" piece of muslin for each gift.

Step 2:
Cut dowel to 10".

Step 3:
Run glue along one of the 8" sides of the muslin. Fold over the dowel.

Step 4:
Paint the palms of your preschoolers hands with red paint. Or put paint onto paper plate and have preschooler dip thier hands in the paint.

Step 5:
With the seam facing your preschoolers tummy. Press the left hand diagonally on to the muslin so that thier fingers end in the center.

Step 6:
Press the right hand down diagonally so that the middle three fingers of the right hand over lap the left hand middle three fingers print. Making a heart shape.

Step 7:
Tie one 24" length of yarn or ribbon to each end of the dowel. Tie the two ends together making a bow at the center. This is the hanger for the print.

Step 8:
Print out the poem below and attatch it to the back of the print.

Handful of Heart

I am giving you something special
Because it can only come from me
There isn't another like it
If you look closely you may see
It is trying to say something
And it's pretty wonderful too
This handful of heart says I love you
And it comes from me to you

Helpful Tips For Parents

This is a great thing to do on aprons, tote bags, pillowcases. They make great gifts all year around. Your preschooler will love making them. They will want to make one for everyone they know.
