Sweet Dreams Pillow Party Favor
Sweet dreams come easy with these little lavender pillows. Soothing scent bring sweet thoughts, and sweet dreams. Heat them up in the microwave to give a warmth to the scent, place under a pillow and drift off to sweet dreams.
Materials You Will Need
Cotton Fabric (such as broadcloth)
Pinking Sheers
Thread
Sewing Machine
Rice
Dried Lavender Flower Buds(see left column to buy some)
24" piece of 1" Satin Ribbon
Fine Tip Fabric Marker or Pen
How To Make It
Step 1:
With pinking sheers cut a 6" X 6" square, from two pieces of fabric.
Step 2:
With wrong sides together sew three sides of the square, making a pocket of sorts.
Step 3:
Pour 1 cup rice and 1/2 cup dried lavender flower buds into "pocket".
Step 4:
Sew remaining side closed.
Step 5:
On Ribbon Write "Microwave this for 30 seconds, then place under your pillow before you go to bed. Sweet dreams will soon follow, and loving thoughts will fill your head." Tie around the pillow.

These make great gifts, not just as favors but for anytime. Use festive fabrics to signify a birthday or holiday, to make them extra special. Or cut them in to fun shapes, hearts, starts, circles. They also are great for when your preschooler is feeling anxious. Heat them up and let them hold it. It is very calming.
