Crowning Glory Royal Party Cake
This amazingly cute cake is so simple to make. Your royal preschooler will be proud to say you made it just for them. With a sparkling crown, this cake will be a great centerpiece for your royal preschool party.
Materials You Will Need
Round Cake (either one or two layers)
Tub of White Frosting (2 if your preschooler is blonde or red headed)
Tub of Chocolate Frosting (if your preschooler is brunette)
Food Coloring Set (just need red and yellow)
Cardboard or Posterboard
Tin Foil
2-m&ms in the color of your preschoolers eyes (brown, blue or green)
1-licorice string 3" long
1-pink skittle
1-zip seal bag
Scissors
How To Make It
Step 1:
Empty 1 tub of white frosting into a bowl. Add drops of red and yellow and mix to make a peach colored frosting. Spread over whole cake. This is the face.
Step 2:
Cut from the cardboard or posterboard a 16" X 4" piece. On one of the long edges cut triangles out to make the points of the crown. Cover the whole "crown" with tin foil. Make two fold 5" from the ends. Set aside.
Step 3:
If your preschooler has red or blonde hair, take the other tub of white frosting and put it in the bowl. Add more red food coloring than yellow food coloring to the frosting and mix for red hair, and yellow food coloring for blonde. For the brunette you will use the chocolate frosting.
Step 4:
Fill the zip seal bag with the "hair" frosting. around the sides and "forehead" of the cake make "hair" in the length of your preschoolers.
Step 5:
Place the crown on the head of the cake.
Step 6:
Put m&ms for the eyes (be sure to put the M side down), the skittle for the nose (be sure to put the S side down) and licorice string as the smile.
Helpful Tips For Parents
These could be made in cupcake size. Just make everthing smaller, mini m&ms, a red imperial candy as the nose and licorice string. You could make the crown from fruit roll cut to look like a crown. Then all of the preschoolers will have their own little royal cake.
