Choosing a Preschool Party Theme
So, you are going to have a preschool party. Whether celebrating a birthday or a holiday. It is always fun to choose a theme. It gives your party direction and ambiance. The questions may be, how do you choose the right theme. Here are a few steps for choosing the perfect preschool party theme.
1. First, what does your preschooler love? What is their favorite book, or favorite toy? You could even choose a theme based on their favorite food. Television shows are popular, or movies. Sit down with a pencil and paper, make a list of everything your preschooler loves.
2. Sometimes there is just that one thing that stands out. The toy your preschooler just can't go anywhere with out. The book that they have had you read a hundred times. The food that they have to eat at any time possible. There are endless possibilities.
3. It just might not come as easy. When this happens, I would ask three friends or family, to give you the one thing that reminds them of your preschooler. This may get your wheels turning, and give you an idea of a party theme.
4. Theres just something special about a holiday. Sometimes your birthday party can be combined with a holiday theme. Or you could just throw yourself a holiday party. Think snowmen for winter, watermelon for summer and fall leaves for autumn. There are holidays that make a great party all in themselves, like, Halloween, St. Patricks Day and 4th of july.
5. That special place. There may be a restaurant that your family loves to go to. Or there could be that place that specializes in parties. Like Mc Donalds, Build A Bear Workshops and your local pizza place. You could also check your city parks or local farms. Sport facilities are great too. Check your local skating rinks, indoor soccer fields or your local YMCA.
Once you have your theme picked out. It is time to go into planning your party. You've got a lot to do. The key is to have fun, don't let it stress you out. See the Planning Your Preschoolers Party article.
