The Quiet Obstacle Course

Buy at Art.comEvery once in a while, our preschoolers need to be calmed down. This fun yet very quiet activity helps your preschooler learn to quietly move. Working on concentration, moving slowly and being peaceful, your preschooler will be able to forget all the rowdy, orneriness that is bubbling and brewing inside.

Materials You Will Need

A Bell With A Handle
Pillows and cushions
Chairs
Jump Rope

How To Do It

Step 1:
Set up a simple obstacle course. Rule of thumb, do as many obstacles as years old you child is. A sample obstacle course is, crawl under the table, walk up 5 stairs and back down, climb over the mountain of pillows and step over the jump rope finish line.

Step 2:
To play, hand the bell to your preschooler. Explain the rules, which are, you can only hold the handle of the bell, and it can not make a noise.

Helpful Tip For Parents

You can do this as a timed game, or just a quiet game. Try to get other participants to cheer the person doing the obstacle course as quietly as possible. This is also a great activity to do one on one with your preschooler. If they are getting a bit rowdy. Hand them the bell and ask them to do daily activities with out ringing the bell. Such as, cleaning up toys, making their beds or setting the table.
